Daryn Strauss’ “Downsized” New Media Series Nominated for Writer’s Guild Award

Region near Los Angeles, named for the ranch that once stood there, which was named by Deida Wilcox. Once a quiet farming community, by 1910 barns were being converted into movie studios. The name was used generically for "American movies" from 1926, three years after the giant sign was set up, originally Hollywoodland, another real estate developer's promotion.

Daryn Strauss’ new media darling “Downsized” is getting some supersize praise.

The web series, now going on what will be its third season in 2012, has just been nominated for a Writer’s Guild award. Strauss couldn’t be happier. The series has been given literal heaps of critical acclaim, including from The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, Fast Company, Clicker, and others.

The cast includes Strauss, Chris Henry Coffee, Conan McCarty, Shannon Conley, Kaipo Schwab, and Gerard Urciuoli among talented others.
